Greetings, beautiful souls.
I want to share something that’s been on my heart.
Growing up, I was blessed with a wonderful mom who made sure I always had plenty to eat. Like many of us, I was raised with the idea that eating three meals a day was simply the way things were done. We often follow traditions without ever asking why.
One thing I’ve always done is question. I don’t ask “why” to be rebellious..I ask because I genuinely want understanding. I taught my children to do the same. Don’t just follow the crowd because everyone else is doing something. Be willing to ask questions. Be willing to learn.
Over the past few years, I’ve spent time researching different approaches to eating, fasting, and how the body works. What I discovered challenged some of the beliefs I had always accepted.
For me personally, I’ve found that eating less often has been beneficial. I feel more mentally clear, more focused, and more at peace. That’s my experience, and it led me to keep learning.
I like to explain it with a simple illustration.
Imagine you’re standing at the sink, washing a pile of dirty dishes. You finally finish the last plate, dry your hands, and are ready to move on to the next task. Then, just as you’re about to leave, someone walks in and drops another stack of dirty dishes into the sink. Once again, your attention has to return to washing dishes before you can focus on anything else.

Sometimes I wonder if our bodies can feel a bit like that. After we eat, our bodies spend time digesting and processing food. When we eat again shortly afterward, digestion starts all over again. It makes me wonder how often we’re asking the body to return to the “sink full of dishes” before it has had much uninterrupted time to focus on its other responsibilities. Giving ourselves longer breaks between meals may allow the body more time to carry out other important functions. That’s one of the reasons some people choose practices like intermittent fasting, and it’s something worth learning about if it interests you.
I’m not a doctor ..yet, and I’m not telling anyone how they should eat. Everyone’s body is different, and some people have medical conditions or nutritional needs that require a different approach. This is simply something I’ve discovered on my own journey.
As always, don’t take my word for it. Research. Read. Ask questions. Pray for wisdom. Listen to your body, and, if needed, seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional. Then make the decision that’s right for you.
I share these thoughts for one reason only: I care about you. Whenever I come across something that brings greater awareness or wisdom into my life, I feel called to pass it along. Take what serves you, leave what doesn’t, and continue seeking truth for yourself.
Keep asking why. Curiosity is often the beginning of wisdom.
